TERMS & CONDITIONS

INFORMATION

Camp Pontiac is a new 35-site campground, nestled in 23 acres of hardwood forests in the beautiful Northwood’s of Wisconsin! The campground is located just two miles from the city of Rhinelander, is connected to nature trails and on the local UTV/ATV trails. Camp Pontiac has a private boat launch, slip or dock for you to access the Hat Rapids Flowage of the Wisconsin River! This is a pristine area for watching nature, enjoying fishing, leisure boat rides, kayaking or paddle boarding! To help keep Camp Pontiac a well-run campground, all guests must abide by and obey the terms and conditions outlined here and we greatly appreciate your adherence!

RESERVATIONS

Reservations are on a first come, first serve basis and can be made up to one year in advance. Reservations should be made online by clicking “Reservations” on Camp Pontiac’s website which is www.CampPontiacLLC.com. If you need help booking, please call (715) 369-CAMP (2267) and an employee will help book your reservation for you. Full payment is required at the time of booking.

If you want to lock in your site so your site # is guaranteed upon arrival, there is a $15 fee required at the time of booking. Camp Pontiac LLC reserves the right to move sites for reservations if the lock fee has not been paid. The lock fee is non-refundable.

Only one unit (camper, trailer, tent etc.) with up to two vehicles per site allowed with each site reservation. There is a maximum amount of six people allowed per site reservation, which is limited to two adults and up to four children. Up to two dogs/pets are included with each site reservation with a maximum of three dogs. Visitors to your site are limited to (2) people per day and per site. If more guests or pets are needed, please contact a Camp Pontiac employee at (715) 369-CAMP to seek prior approval.

Additional children (over age 4) – $10/night per site.
Additional adults (ages 18 and older) – $10/night per site.
Additional vehicles – $10 per site reservation.
Additional pets – $10 per site reservation.

Checkout time is 11am daily. Checkouts after 11am will result in a charge for another day per site. Check-in time is after 1pm daily. If your site is vacant and prepared for your stay, an early check in is available but please call or email Camp Pontiac for prior approval. All campers and visitors are required to check in upon arriving and display their Camp Pontiac vehicle pass.

Memorial Day weekend and Labor Day weekend both require a two-night minimum stay per site reservation. There are no refunds whatsoever for these listed holiday weekends (Friday, Saturday or Sundays).

Cancellations for non-holiday/special event weekends may be refunded up to 14 calendar days prior to the first day of the reservation with the exception of a $10 cancellation fee per site. Ex. Reservation is for June 15th. Cancellation may occur anytime through June 1st for full refund minus the $10 cancellation fee per site. Cancellations 8-13 days prior to the first day of the site reservation may be cancelled and refunded minus one night stay per site and a $10 cancellation fee per site. Cancellations 7 calendar days or less prior to the reservation will not be refunded and will be charged for the entire reservation. Again, there are no refunds for holiday/special event weekends (Friday, Saturday or Sunday).

If a lock fee was paid, it will not be refunded for any reason. There is absolutely no refund whatsoever for weather, bugs, no Wi-Fi, illness, family emergency, local event cancellations, bad cellular reception etc. Refunds will only be provided as described within the above cancellation policy.

Requests to change dates of reservation will be honored on a first come first serve basis up to 7 calendar days prior to the first day of the reservation. Dates must be used during the same camp season as the initial reservation. No carryovers or credits will occur from season to season.

Site costs are located on the map when reserving a site at www.CampPontiacLLC.com.
Sites may be reserved by day, week or month (30 days). If interested in a seasonal site, please call (715) 369-CAMP to arrange pricing.

We offer a 10% discount to all first responders including law enforcement, EMT, fire and all military service (active and veterans) with proof of ID. We appreciate your service!

ACCOMMODATIONS & AMENITIES

Each site at Camp Pontiac has a picnic table and a fire pit. Dumpsters are available for trash and recycling. A water spigot is available for drinking water at the shower house. There are six tent sites with no electricity or water and 29 sites with independent water with 50-amp service. Sites 8, 9 & 10 are on concrete slabs and have sewer hook-ups.

Camp Pontiac expects to have the dump station completed in May 2024 contingent on how quickly the frost is gone. The nearest dumping station is located at the Rhinelander Wastewater Treatment Plant at 869 Boyce Drive, Rhinelander, WI, less than three miles away.

The tent sites have a soft spot for the tent (not gravel) and are on higher part of the property, optimal for wet conditions. Tent sites have a maximum of 7-night rental. If a longer period is needed, please call (715) 369-CAMP.

The shower house/bathrooms are brand new as of 2022! The new shower house/bathrooms are for your convenience. Please do your best to keep it in good condition. If it needs attention, please let a Camp Pontiac employee know.

Camp Pontiac has a nature trail for those interested in a nature walk or hike that is not accessible to UTV/ATVS. Camp Pontiac is off of South River Road, which follows the Wisconsin River and is well known to be a favorite location for activities such as kayaking, paddle boarding, bike riding, walking or running.

Camp Pontiac is located on the Oneida County UTV/ATV trail for easy access to/from the trail!

Camp Pontiac has a play area with a wood swing set and sandbox.

Camp Pontiac has a private boat landing/launch into the Wisconsin River! Boat slips are available for $400 per season ($100/ month or $50/week). These slips are available on a first come first serve basis with preference going to seasonal or monthly reservation guests first. To reserve a boat slip, please call (715) 369-CAMP. Extra parking for boat trailers etc. is available along South River Rd, directly across from the boat slip. There is absolutely no parking allowed along South River Road. Vehicles parked on South River Road will be towed away.

Camp Pontiac is well maintained with lawn care serviced weekly and sites are cleaned and inspected upon guests’ departure.

Be aware there is no Wi-Fi at Camp Pontiac at this time. Cell service is typically good.
Coming Soon! Camp Pontiac plans on adding kayaks and paddleboards to rent real soon! A store with necessities and souvenirs will also be coming!

PETS

Camp Pontiac LLC is named after our family’s beloved dog, Pontiac, and we welcome pets to the campground. Up to two dogs/pets per site are included with each reservation. An additional pet can be added for $10 per site reservation; however, if more are needed, please talk to a Camp Pontiac employee to seek further approval.

Pets must be on a leash at all times. For your pets’ protection, please do not allow them to run free. Excessive barking will not be tolerated. Pets cannot be left alone or unsupervised. Camp Pontiac LLC reserves the right to have any pet removed from the campground without any refund. Please clean up immediately after your pets. All droppings must be picked up and disposed of properly. Pet owners are liable and assume all responsibility for the actions of their pets including damage or injuries caused by them. No pets are allowed in the shower house or bathrooms.

FIRES

Fires are to only occur in the fire pit provided with each site. Moving fire pits is not allowed. Outside firewood is not permitted; firewood is available for purchase at Camp Pontiac. Untreated scrap lumber may be used. This is an effort to reduce invasive species to this area. Use of outside firewood will not be tolerated and refusal to comply with this rule may result in your removal from the campground without any refund. Please make sure your fire is attended to at all times and put out with water before leaving the site or going to sleep. Please do not burn any garbage in the fires. Fire pits must be free of trash & cigarette butts at checkout.

RULES

  1. Have fun, make memories and be respectful and considerate of other guests!
  2. Quiet hours are from 10pm-8am. Children must return to their campsite by 10pm.
  3. The speed limit in the campground is 5mph with an absolute maximum of 10mph. Please use caution for small children and pets. MPH applies to all motor vehicles, motorcycles, dirt bikes, mopeds, scooters, UTVs and ATVS etc.
  4. There are absolutely no refunds for bad weather, bugs, lack of or unsteady Wi-Fi or cell service, illness, family emergencies etc. Refunds will only be given as stated in the cancellation section and all cancellations are subject to the cancellation fee.
  5. All must abide by Camp Pontiac LLC employees’ direction or warnings to comply with terms and conditions or correct behavior on the property.
  6. Camp Pontiac LLC and their employees are not responsible for lost, stolen or damaged articles or property and will not be held liable for any accidents or injuries.
  7. Camp Pontiac LLC and its employees retain the right to have any person, pet or property removed from the property without any refund for not abiding by all terms and conditions.
  8. All registered campers and their visitors must check in with a Camp Pontiac employee and display the pass on their vehicles. Registered campers are responsible to see that their visitors are registered and that they follow campground rules. Any person not abiding by these terms and conditions will be removed from the property with no refund.
  9. Management must approve all early or late arrivals or departures. Failure to checkout on time will result in being charged for another day for your site.
  10. Please be mindful of the wildlife in the area including but not limited to snakes, raccoons, bears, skunks, rabbit, turkeys, grouse, rodents, coyote, wolves, bobcat, deer etc. Do not feed any wildlife and do not store any food in your tent or screen tent.
  11. Please keep your site clean of trash and litter. Deposit all garbage in the dumpster provided and do not burn garbage. Please recycle.
  12. Please be good neighbors and campers and conduct yourselves in a manner that does not create a disturbance, excessive noise or is a nuisance to others.
  13. Please respect others property, sites, campers and vehicles. Do not cut through other sites or remove any of their property. Do not drive through or park on neighboring sites.
  14. Boat trailers must be within your site or in the designated area provided by Camp Pontiac.
  15. No generators are allowed to run except during emergency power outage. No loud, annoying generators will be tolerated and none over 87dB.
  16. Campfires are allowed in the fire pit only and must be extinguished with water before going to bed or leaving the campsite. Please do not burn garbage.
  17. All firewood must be purchased at Camp Pontiac. Absolutely no firewood can be hauled into camp.  Clean, untreated lumber is allowed for kindling.
  18. Fire pits and campsites must be free from all trash and cigarette butts prior to checkout.
  19. Please dispose of cigarette butts in proper receptacles and not leave on the campground property.
  20. Adults are responsible for the actions of children and pets in their care and are liable for any damage or injuries and the costs of repair.
  21. Anyone causing excessive noise and disruption or removes, destroys, alters or tampers with any campground property will be removed from the campground with no refund and will be charged for the damage and cost of repair.
  22. Further rules regarding the shower house and bathrooms are posted in the facility and are required to be followed at all times.
  23. No smoking in shower house, bathroom or any building.
  24. No washing of clothing or dishes in the shower house or bathrooms.
  25. No pets in shower house or bathrooms.
  26. Two pets are welcomed with each site reservation.
  27. Dogs must be on a leash.
  28. Pets cannot be left unattended. Excessive barking will not be tolerated.
  29. Pet owner must pick up all pet waste immediately.
  30. Grey water & black tanks must be contained and disposed of at a dump station. Failure to properly dispose of your grey and black tanks may be referred to law enforcement and charged for property damage and clean up.
  31. No washing of vehicles, campers, motorcycles, UTVs, ATVS, bicycles, etc. If required, please seek prior approval from a Camp Pontiac employee. An additional fee will be charged for disregarding this rule.
  32. No cutting of live, dead or downed trees.
  33. There is absolutely no digging allowed.
  34. Fireworks are not permitted.
  35. No discharging of firearms, air guns or archery equipment.
  36. No illicit drug use or possession is allowed on Camp Pontiac LLC property.
  37. No illegal behavior will be tolerated. Illegal behavior will be reported to law enforcement.
  38. Anyone disrespecting the property, defacing, tampering with or destroying any property of Camp Pontiac will be reported to law enforcement and ordered to vacate the property without any refund and will be held liable for any costs associated with repairing the damage.
  39. There is no lifeguard on duty when visiting the Wisconsin River. All activities on or around the river and Camp Pontiac LLC property are at your own risk.
  40. Stay on main roads, footpaths or trails.
  41. If accessing the nature trail, UTV/ATV trail, forest etc. use is at your own risk.
  42. No motor vehicles are allowed on the nature trail whatsoever.
  43. UTVS, ATVS, dirt bikes, scooters, golf carts etc. are permitted from site to trail and trail to site only and must abide by the 5-10mph speed limits. No cruising of the campground is allowed.
  44. UTVS, ATVS, dirt bikes, etc. must abide by all local trail guideline, speed limits and rules and only use on the designated UTV/ATV trail at all times.
  45. All users of UTVS, ATVS, dirt bikes, scooters, golf carts etc. must be qualified and use the designated trail only to get to and from South River Rd. Absolutely no loud pipes or exhaust will be tolerated.

When booking a site or visiting Camp Pontiac LLC, you are agreeing to and accepting these terms and conditions.
