Camp Pontiac LLC is now open for the season.

Jeff Steinmetz, of Rhinelander, built Camp Pontiac in memory of his family’s beloved pet dog Pontiac.

Camp Pontiac has 36 sites, 23 acres of campground nestled in 46 acres of Northern Wisconsin’s Hardwood Forest. Located only 2 miles from Rhinelander, WI off South River Rd on Woodwind Way. With Boat Landing and Boat Slips (coming soon) on the Hat Rapids Flowage of the Wisconsin River, Camp Pontiac has 29 with individual water and 50 Amp service. 5 Seasonal sites on Concrete Slab 48′ x 33′. First Come, First Serve basis. Rates to be determined. 6 Remote Sites off nature trails with Fire Pit & Picnic Tables.

Additionally:

25 Acres of nature trails on property, New Bathroom/Shower Facility with Cleaning and Maintenance Staff, Bike and Hiking Trails nearby. ATV access to town and “almost” anywhere, boating, kayaking, paddle boarding and fishing on river. Remote swimming beaches within one mile. Downtown shopping only 4 miles away, boat launch, slips and parking on WI River for Fishing or Pleasure plus much wildlife including “Eagles Nest, Water Fowl, Otters, etc.,” ending at Hat Rapids Dam and return trip. Offering pickup service for Kayak, Canoe, and Paddle Boards at Hat Rapids Dam for return to camp. Playground for Children, Pet Friendly to “FRIENDLY PETS”, Ice available, Firewood “From Campground Only”, Freezer Available if Needed. QUIET TIME AT 10PM.
